A clothier in Copenhagen, Denmark, found himself seriously over-stocked with men's Winter and Spring coats. Adopting a unique sales scheme, he erected scaffolding around his store. He then completely covered it from roof to sidewalk with more than a thousand overcoats.
The novel display attracted droves of prospective customers. Such was the ensuing chaos that the police were summoned. Although the proprietor was ordered to remove the spectacle, he did succeed in selling his entire stock.
